Lisa Flowers Gary is a highly experienced Attorney with nearly 30 years of practice in the field of law. In 2016, she faced a traumatic brain injury, but she successfully resumed her legal career after previously working on the late Fred Thompson presidential campaign. She began serving the Tennessee GOP Politicians and the Williamson County Republican Party. Throughout her profession, Lisa has dedicated herself to assisting underprivileged individuals in need of legal representation to safeguard their rights. Her remarkable career spans from being a journalist to becoming a lawyer, with a profound passion for charitable work.

At present, Lisa is preparing to run as a Republican delegate for the state of Tennessee. Apart from her political endeavors, she is a decorated long-distance runner, a talented novelist and writer, and a self-taught Marine Biologist who studies shark behavior and their interactions with humans in natural settings.

She played a pioneering role as the inaugural Producer and Newswriter for MTSU's first broadcast news station, Channel 22, Newview. In 1984, she received an award for journalistic excellence and a scholarship specifically recognizing female Editors.

Lisa graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications. In 1996, while serving as the Copy Editor at UT's Daily Beacon, she achieved her Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law. During her time as a student, she also interned at the Law Offices of James A. H. Bell.

Unfortunately, the house suffered flood damage, leading Lisa to undertake another restoration effort. She takes pride in being the caretaker of a home that will celebrate its centenary in 2024, adorning it with period furniture and cherished heirlooms. Additionally, Lisa indulges in collecting and wearing vintage clothing to preserve and honor the past.

At the young age of 14, Lisa began volunteering at animal shelters. Throughout her career, she collaborated with the national organization Pets for Patriots while representing pro bono veterans returning from the war in Afghanistan. Through this initiative, she paired her clients with shelter pets. Furthermore, she spearheaded a hippotherapy program in conjunction with a horse therapist to assist veterans in coping with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

After obtaining a special license issued by Washington, D.C., administered through the Department of Veterans Affairs, Lisa witnessed firsthand how the Afghanistan conflict affected veterans. As a result, she dedicated herself to volunteering with animal shelters and hippotherapy programs, helping veterans reintegrate into normal life.

Lisa has volunteered for several organizations, including the Heritage Foundation, the Downtown Franklin Association, the Williamson County Republican Party, Republican Women of Williamson County, and her local church.

She was among the first generation of Editors-in-Chief, receiving a Journalism award and Scholarship for female Editors in 1984. She contributed to creating case law that recognizes the right not to be sexually assaulted, incorporating it into the Bill of Rights in the Tennessee Constitution. Additionally, she won Tennessee's first whistleblower case, representing an employee at a TVA nuclear power plant, solidifying her reputation as an attorney committed to rectifying injustices. Furthermore, Lisa served on the Board of Happy Tales Humane and has received numerous humanitarian awards for her charity work, along with awards of excellence for her oral argument skills and legal advocacy.
